Merlin's Big Day Out!

My sister-in-law was running the marathon, so we took the monster down to cheer her on!

It was a challenge to take him with us - but well worth it for his socialisation, especially as he is a very people orientated!

He was very good on the tube, especially as there were lots of loud noises, he didn't even flinch. (Silly mummy forgot to take pics on the tube!)

My brother's little girl decided she would like to stand and watch, which was great as it meant Merlin could chill on her pram :D

We then walked to the pub where he was literally amazingly behaved while we ate, just laid down and went to sleep

Then for the cherry on the top, on the drive home he wasn't sick once!

The only downside was that we were stopped literally every couple of seconds for people to go 'awww' and then ask a million questions :tongue_smilie: I think we've also inadventantly got another 100 people to buy whippets

So here he is enjoying his big day out!

'Mum, why are people laughing at me?'

'I'm not getting off, she can walk - her legs are longer than mine!'

'Not you too Dad? I've told you, I'm comfy! Don't make me move'

The marathon :)

The marathon from Merlin's level!

Then we had to stop and have a pit stop, so monster got dindins!

My OH with Merlin - we all were a little tired by this point and we didn't even run it!

Then it rained and Merlin didn't want it to ruin his hair!

Lastly here he is in the pub being all cute!

Will update properly another time, as I've had a crappy week and I'm too tired!

Main things though -

Been here 6 weeks and is doing good :)

99% Toilet Trained.

All other training is going well. Even managed to sit and wait the whole time I brushed my teeth this morning.

Had his first day with his doggy-sitter and apparently he was very well behaved :) thank god!

Still loves people and acts as if he's never seen one before :(

Going to London tomorrow so hopefully that will be very good socialisation!

Now for some pics :

Chewing his fluggie

Looking like a bear!

Have I got too many toys mum?!

Well... out of all my toys I like this one best!

Hmm very chewy!

Yes mum, it is mine, now leave me to chew!

You looking at me!?

Merlin has been here 4 weeks!

So Little Mr Merlin Monster has been here four weeks today!

It feels as if he has been here a lifetime - I honestly can't imagine coming home to a little wagging tail!

He had his first puppy training on Thursday, and he had to be the dog that needed a poo didn't he :/ after that though, he was very good though, even with the older dogs there (he was in the class up from puppy class, as we couldn't get to that one in time). He did his sit, lie, and come very well. He unfortunately didn't walk too well on his lead - but we're getting there :)

He has been on lots of walks in his lovely harness and is really getting used to it. We have also found a lovely field for him to walk on!

We have changed/are changing his food from Skinners to Acana as we are looking after a Border Collie named Chase (girl) at the moment, and he wants her food, so we are getting food both of them will eat. It's also supposedly better food.

We'll have to wait and see :)

Now for the pictures!
